In my files, I still have a photo from the early 1990s which shows me and Sally and Howard Davies after we had been speaking at an Age Concern conference together. Sally was subsequently a great source of advice when I was doing the National Disability Council and various subsequent roles such as Housing 21 the extra-care housing and eldercare provider and Carers UK.
I was a huge Sally fan, so I am honoured to become an ambassador.
Pledge
For me, age irrelevance is not making assumptions, not stereotyping or putting labels on anyone but seeing the possibilities at all stages of life.
My pledge is to work for inter-generational dialogue and fairness.
