About

Marrons is a multi-disciplinary consultancy delivering planning, architecture, design, heritage and socio-economic services that help clients unlock their project’s potential and bring forward meaningful development. Acting on behalf of clients across the UK, we support regeneration through the promotion of sites, the preparation of robust planning applications and representation at appeals. As a certified B Corporation, we’re committed to high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Our national team works across key hubs in England, driving forward projects that address urgent challenges in the built environment.

Insight

The demographic make-up of England is changing at pace. As our population ages and different regions experience varying growth trends – from increasing numbers of first-time buyers to a sharp rise in over-65s – it’s essential we make data-led decisions about what we build, where and who for. Our Housing 2040 report draws on ONS Census data, population projections and local housing data to identify where need is greatest and how that need is evolving. Whether it’s the demand for later living accommodation, family homes or student housing, our analysis shows that we can’t afford to rely on assumptions or blanket national targets. We need to future-proof development by planning now for the communities of tomorrow.

Commitment

At Marrons, we believe robust, accessible data is fundamental to solving the housing crisis. We’re committed to helping local authorities, developers and policy makers understand the real needs of their populations – both now and into the future – so we can deliver housing that is demographically appropriate, sustainable and fit for purpose.

Impact

Through our in-depth analysis and strategic insight, we highlight areas of unmet need and untapped opportunity, ensuring housing decisions are grounded in reality, not rhetoric. As England faces growing pressure to accommodate an ageing population and meet rising affordability challenges, our work is focused on unlocking sites, shaping policy and supporting delivery that truly responds to how our population is changing. By putting data at the heart of planning, we can ensure the homes we build today are ready for the lives people will live tomorrow.
